Never before has there been such an emphasis on eating healthily, keeping strong and safe, and trying to ensure we all eat our 5-a-day. At Addis Acacia, we give you fresh fruit servings to kickstart your day

Fruit is good for you and your health; this is common knowledge. But sometimes it’s difficult to motivate yourself to eat enough of it, especially on a daily basis when everyone is so busy.

Fresh-cut fruit is convenient, portable, and easy to access and it satisfies your need for a healthy snack. Fruits and vegetables possess qualities that can make them fun to eat, things like eye-catching colours, natural sweetness, crunchiness, and juiciness. Presentation is an important part of it as well… the convenience of salad bowls or fruit bowls, can entice consumers to buy them. The work it takes to prep fruit (and the fact that this prep time can be a messy process) can sometimes influence people not to consume enough of it.

Coffee

Ethiopians are super-proud of their coffee, which they grow domestically. “Ethiopia is the birthplace of coffee and grows hundreds of varieties, and there are still likely many undiscovered varieties! The majority of coffee in Ethiopia is still wild-grown and harvested on a very small scale.” You can find very good espresso all over Addis Ababa (a legacy of Mussolini’s short-lived, unsuccessful attempt to colonize the country), but the more traditional way to enjoy the beverage is with a coffee ceremony. After a meal at someone’s house, or even at a restaurant, you may be presented with a small cup of strong espresso that’s been brewed over a charcoal brazier in a clay urn. “Incense is burned after a coffee ceremony, but not pure frankincense, because that’s only for the church,”.

Its the best thing to travel around the world, and a whole other experience when in the process you find a serene place within a busy city to lay down and rest. The team an Acacia Addis do quite a good job.

My room was nice, beds comfortable, space for hanging my clothes, nice working bathroom with no issues, and wifi which worked at most times of the day. The Rooftop view of the city was a pleasant way to relax.

During the AU 50th Anniversary events organisers of one of the events I attended arranged for us to stay at this Guest house for 2 nights. The facilities were very good and our room was clean, tidy and the bed comfortable. Apart from breakfast, which was fine, we did not eat inside.
